Do you transport children in your car? Then, steam car detailing is a MUST!
Let’s face it; we women tend to be less fanatic about our cars than men. When I started to learn about car hygiene and steam, I soon concluded that maybe we should more like men when it comes to the cleanliness of our cars!
Microbiologists at Queen Mary University of London, England found that most cars have more bugs than a public toilet seat! YUK! They found an average of 700 bacteria per 3.9 square inches in cars and noted that public toilet seats contain on average 80 germs per 3.9 square inches. Yikes!
While they found most of the bacteria in cars were not really dangerous, some cars are hosts to a number of potentially harmful bugs such as Escherichia coli (E. Coli), the dreaded Salmonella and Bacillus cereus, which can cause food poisoning and be potentially fatal. The researchers pointed that children and pets were most of at risk when they ride in dirty cars and that cars that transport either or both have the highest bacteria count.
This study points to the fact that most people who clean their homes and are concerned about the health of their children and pets yet neglect their vehicles may be driving in cars that resemble trash bins! The researchers went on to say that if you eat in your car, leave litter or uneaten food around and don’t clean your car often you will be creating the perfect breeding conditions for bugs to live and multiply. The scientists involved in the study advice that to avoid potential health risks, it is wise to regularly and thoroughly clean your car, both inside and out. And, we add that you should also consider using steam to do the job.
Why steam clean your car?
Besides cleaning your car regularly, you would need to use a chlorine cleaning solution to ensure the bugs in your car are gone; however, this means you will be using harsh chemicals to do the job. A much safer and eco-friendly solution is to use steam.
Cleaning with steam kills 99.9 percent of bacteria, germs and dust mites that reside in your car including E. coli, Staph bacteria, Salmonella and other microorganisms, surface molds, bacteria, viruses and other ugly bugs lurking around your car. Water must be heated to 175 degrees for it to sanitize effectively. The steamers used by DetailXPerts of Greenville have been designed to superheat steam up to 345 degrees! We eradicate every bug in and out of sight.
Not only will steam sanitize your vehicle, but it will also remove dirt, loosens stains, and powers through grease and grime like no other method. Another plus of steam is that it removes odors naturally from the carpets and upholstery of your car.
